Landscape uses: This is a useful plant for covering large areas, or as a back of the bed plant. It is easily removed when it grows outside the boundaries set for it. A buried edger (at least 15 cm) will contain the rhizomes. Self-seeds. Staking may be needed in windy areas. Suggested spacing for planting is 60 cm.

Ecology: Native songbirds, especially goldfinches, are partial to the small seeds. Bees and other pollinating insects are attracted to the flowers.
