Slow rhizomatous spreader. Large seed heads burst open when ripe to release clouds of white silk.

Sun to part-shade; any soil; can take dry conditions.
Sow the seeds directly into the garden in late fall. If starting indoors, moist cold stratify for 2-4 weeks.
