mall fragrant flowers attractive to a wide range of butterflies. (Monarchs have been observed on Low Milkweed in Edmonton).
Slow rhizomatous spreader. Large seed heads burst open when ripe to release clouds of white silk.

Sun to part-shade; any soil; can take dry conditions.

Sow the seeds directly into the garden in late fall. If starting indoors, moist cold stratify for 2-4 weeks.
